This is without question the finest-sounding speaker I ever made. It has a silky midrange that held its own with the incomparable Quad ESL-63's. Today it pairs nicely with my Monitor Audio Silver 5's. I built this from plans drawn by Elliot at Zalytron, who also designed the elegantly simple first-order crossover. I hated to hide those gorgeous Kevlar woofers behind the hinged grille, but it was nice not to have to finish the 3/4-inch MDF. You might notice the mosquito screen behind the brown grille cloth; that's to keep curious little ones from destroying Daddy's creation.
My Niles infrared repeater is peeking out of the cutout in the upper grille.
